Student Interface to the Biology Workbench (SIB)

SIB is an alternative interface to the Biology Workbench oriented towards interactive teaching and learning.

Please note that you will be making permanent changes to your Biology Workbench accounts - if you delete (or add) a sequence or session under this interface it will be deleted (or added) to the Biology Workbench.

French version of SIB thanks to Jacques Barrère and Paul Pillot.
Spanish version of SIB thanks to Carlos de Paz

If you do not have a Biology Workbench account, then you need to register for a free account. Unfortunately, SIB can no longer support registering so if the Registration fails please go to the Biology Workbench registration page.

Please note that this interface requires the Biology Workbench to function and can only use the tools and databases that are present with the Biology Workbench. You will be making permanent changes to the Biology Workbench account - if you delete (or add) a sequence or session under this interface it will be deleted from (or added to) the Biology Workbench.

This work is a part of the Biology Student Workbench now known as the Molecular Science Student Workbench directed by Eric Jakobsson with support from an EdGrid Project that was directed by Lisa Bievenue, the National Center for Supercomputer Applications and funding support from various agencies.

The current version was developed by Bruce Southey (southey@uiuc.edu) with the help of Nick Exner and builds upon the initial work by Mihye Won. I appreciate the subsequent help by Jay Mashl in the current version. The comments and suggestions by Dr. Twidale's LIS350II Interfaces to Information (Fall 2001) class were greatly appreciated and resulted in greatly improved user experience.
